Health 101: Summer Workouts


With summer just around the corner, a healthy body is what most of us are looking for. Especially during this season, we should take advantage of the sunny outdoors that give us tons of different options to exercise while enjoying the fresh air and the warm temperatures. Besides my workout plan, which works wonders for our overall health and fitness, there are many great ideas to burn those extra calories. These are some ideas...

Biking: This is one of the greatest workouts for healthy, toned legs. Whether you're riding around the block or going on a mountain trail, you'll burn tons of calories, while changing scenery and breathing fresh air.

Swimming: There's nothing better for our skin and body than taking a swim on the beach. Swimming tones every single muscle of your body, and the salty water mixed with sand is perfect for a silky, smooth skin. Killing two birds with one stone, check.

Hiking: This is the perfect workout plan with friends. All you need is a pair of comfortable shoes and plenty of water to stay hydrated. This is a very effective cardio, also great for gaining major muscular strength.

Running: It may sound obvious, but summer is the best time of the year to go for a run... far from the treadmill, I mean. Always remember to stay hydrated and preferably run earlier in the morning when the sun is less intense. Other than that, go for as long as you can, and you'll be swimsuit-ready in no time.

Tennis: It's a great idea to workout while playing a sport. It's more fun when you exercise with friends, so tennis is a great way to burn a good amount of calories while spending quality time with them, so make it a regular plan.

There are many great ways in which you can get healthy and fit outdoors. Just go for what you like, take your friends with you, and you'll see that burning calories is not so hard after all, and can actually be fun.
